A functional health coach utilizes the principles of functional medicine to help clients achieve their health and wellness goals. They utilize their broad knowledge of health and wellness topics to help clients navigate their health concerns.
Coaches meet clients where they’re at and collaborate with them to make lifestyle changes to achieve their goals. Coaches are experts at facilitating change, zeroing in on the “why” behind the desire to change and cultivating strong motivation for those changes.
Coaches empower clients and offer support, accountability, motivation, and guidance which culminates in improved health and wellness.
I am a Kresser Institute APAPT Certified Functional Health Coach (A-CFHC).
In October of 2021 I will be sitting for the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) exam. NBHWC has collaborated with the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) to “provide a robust board certification examination.”
Functional Medicine is focused on creating health versus treating illness. While functional medicine doctors DO treat disease their focus is removing the root cause of the disease versus giving a medication to alleviate the symptoms of the disease.
Functional Medicine recognizes that the body works as a whole, not it’s individual parts, and strives to create balance and health throughout all the systems of the body.

Either in a one on one or group setting (depending on your program) we will meet over Zoom weekly.
We will discuss your goals and vision for your optimal wellness and create a roadmap for you to achieve those goals in our first hour long session. Maybe it’s weight loss, embarking on an exercise program, stress reduction, sleep issues, or any topic that contributes to your optimal wellness.
Next, we will devise small experiments which will move you one step closer to your goal. Through tweaking and testing we find those habits and lifestyle changes that support your vision of optimal health and wellness.
Then, we rinse and repeat. Each fractional change builds upon itself culminating in a lifestyle you love, that’s sustainable, and invigorating which culminates in your Optimal Wellness.
